How to maintain your own pen

Now that pens have become more than writing stationery, they are a kind of collectibles, and their value is not simply written. The old saying is good: “If workers want to do it, they must first sharpen their tools.” A good pen can be used not only to appreciate, but also to make people enjoy real writing pleasure.

However, modern pens, because of their superb manufacturing techniques, are smoother when written, and often allow people to overlook their maintenance. In fact, the pen, like any machine, not only needs normal maintenance, but also has certain deadlines. Some parts need to be replaced. Developing good habits for use and maintenance is the most important factor for longevity. The following maintenance methods will make your pens the best protection.

1, the pen body loses luster

When it comes to the pen body, people will think of the problem of material. No matter what the pen body is made from any material, it will inevitably have scratches or tarnish after being used for a long time. If it is not too severe, it will usually be sent back to the original factory. Can also be polished and repaired. Normal maintenance is to prevent it from colliding with the hard metal parts, avoid contact with acidic alkaline solution, and often wipe with a soft cloth to keep the pen body new. However, it should be noted that pens should not be exposed to high temperatures for a long time, otherwise the pen body will be damaged, and some may even have a speckled color.

2, writing is not smooth

If the pen cannot be written or is not smooth, the pen can be first soaked in warm water for a period of time (about half a day). At this time, the dry ink residue in the blocked ink system will be melted and discharged. If there is still a feeling of unsmooth writing, then it is best to send it back to the original factory for special handling.

3, ink residue appears in the pen tip

Due to frequent use, some ink residue tends to accumulate at the point where the nib and the tongue are in contact with each other. At this time, it can be gently brushed with a soft brush.

Other maintenance techniques: In general, the most important part of a pen is at the tip of the pen, and the tip of the pen is the most touched. After the pen is used up, be sure to tighten the pen cover, prevent both the pen tip from damaging and the ink from evaporating and condensing, causing the pen's water channel to be blocked or unsmooth. Pen accessories such as penholders and ink bags are all parts that are easy to damage. If the pen pen holder is a dual-use structure for the water absorber and the ink bag, the ink bag must be used preferentially to ensure the smooth flow of water. When using a water purifier, use a non-precipitating ink. However, after a certain period of time, these accessories will still be damaged naturally, so they need to be replaced at regular intervals.

In addition, a good pen must be supported by ink. It is best to use the same brand of ink. Because good ink does not stain your pen. Be careful not to absorb black ink with gum content to prevent siltation of the writing structure and affect the water. After the fountain pen has been used for a period of time, it should also be cleaned to keep the watercourse open. When cleaning, remove the ink bag or the ink suction device, and dip the tip of the pen tip and the pen in warm water until the surface of the stain softens. After inserting the water suction device, immerse the tip of the pen in warm water, then hold the tail of the rotary suction device and rotate it counterclockwise or clockwise. (Pressure spring type water-absorber is continuously pressing the spring piece) until the water becomes clear. Finally use a soft cloth to dry. The use of distilled water to clean the pen works better.
