I am Zhao Enzhe. I am currently the deputy director of China IGG. I used to be the main beauty of Net Dragon. The reason why I wrote these words is to give some inspiration and reference to students who have not yet entered the original painting design industry or just entered the business. I know that many students who have just graduated or worked in the original painting design industry will face such a choice: draw a character or draw a scene. Here, I will give you some advice on my personal experience to help you sort out the problem. Considering that some concepts are too large and complex, they will not be discussed, but they will be as easy to understand as possible.
The original definition of "original painting" is a key position in cartoon production. But I don't know why, this concept has gone awry in China. The "original painting" has been defined as the "game concept designer", and the original scene painting and the original character painting are subdivided.
The original painting design that we usually understand is the design of the scene props in the game or the design of the atmosphere of the district. Of course, some students will think that painting characters is the only way to adhere to their own artistic path because of the cultivation of pure art in the Academy. From a professional point of view, I do not shy away from the "scenario original painting" to control the product more macroscopically. It can be designed across the prop design, object design, and the conceptual atmosphere of the district. It is also more suitable for management positions such as "resource management".

Next, I want to tell you some definitions of conceptual designers. The so-called "conceptual design" is a set of solutions proposed in the early stage of the product, rather than some students in China understand that "conceptual design" is an atmosphere that looks very beautiful. Your mobile phone, car, computer, TV... Most of the world's finely crafted products require almost the previous "conceptual design" before the advent, not just the game. "The game original design concept designer" is a position for the game. As a conceptual designer of the original painting, you must have a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the product development process, otherwise your design may be just useless.

In the same way, as the game manufacturer's original game concept designer, you should also know all the aspects of game product development, so that your design will become "get it" and "practical". Moreover, many excellent "game original design concept designers" can cross several industries such as movies, games and animations.
From what I just said, you should be able to understand that in the game product design, perhaps we do not have to be so rigid to distinguish between "role" and "scene." As a qualified original painting designer, the most rational way is "one special multi-energy" - you can paint the scene, the scene also has a character, and the icons and props can be easily eaten, and can be clear Understand the needs and barriers of all aspects of the game product development. At this time, your height is different, and you are already at the top of the entire product line.
Having said that, everyone should have a new understanding of the term "concept designer". Take the house as an example - he is more like the designer of the drawing, not the one who built the brick. Usually, I will give students such concepts:
1. Mastering the learning method rather than the skill, such a "methodology" even if I am not around, everyone can fully learn.
2. Learning the practical skills of product development, the result is to make everyone become a "composite talent" to meet the needs of all aspects.
3. Don't die to draw illustrations during the learning process, but to simulate project training like a product. Product development is guided by "results" so that we can quickly predict the outcome.
4. I hope to design a course based on each student's own characteristics! A piece of white paper is good to teach, but it is more arrogant! I hope that students will not be the same, but have their own competitive value!
