In 1971, the company installed chemical recovery equipment at the polyester factory in Nobeoka to reuse the waste yarn produced by the factory. To meet the needs of the market, the company has recently improved its equipment to recover EG (ethylene glycol) and DMT (dimethyl terephthalate) from collected PET bottles. Because the quality is similar to the common monomers sold on the market, the recycled material can be used to make the polyester and ultrafine fibers needed for leather.
