Pulp prices worldwide have fallen to the lowest point

Recently, Swedish forest industry people generally believe that the world pulp price has now dropped to the lowest point, and it is expected that this year will see a trend of steady increase and rise.

Bruecke, president of Sweden's ROTTNEROS Pulp Manufacturing Company, said that at present, the price per ton of long fiber pulp in the futures market is 460 US dollars, but due to the fact that suppliers offer discounts in different proportions to attract customers, their actual prices are already on the spot market. The price of pulp is almost the same. The price of pulp in the spot market has stabilized for the coming month. Therefore, it can be considered that the price of pulp has dropped to its lowest point. In the coming period, the price of pulp may still fluctuate, but it will not be very large.

In the past one month, the price of long fiber pulp in the North American spot market has remained at a level of about 420 US dollars, and the long fiber pulp in the spot markets of Europe and Asia has remained at a price between 400 US dollars and 390 US dollars, respectively.

Swedish industry insiders also agreed that although pulp prices may rise in the fall this year, the increase will not be significant because the main reasons for the stabilization of pulp prices are due to the restrictions imposed by some large manufacturers on the international market. The demand for paper has not increased substantially. The world paper industry will still maintain a relatively low operating rate.

Pulp prices in the world market began to fall sharply from the beginning of this year, and the price per ton of long-fiber pulp fell from 710 US dollars to the current 460 US dollars, a drop of 35%.
