Why do xenon lamp aging test test for aluminum alloy doors and windows?

The water-cooled xenon lamp aging test chamber can simulate the full spectrum of sunlight, including ultraviolet, visible and infrared.

There are two factors affecting the spectrum of xenon lamps: the filter system and the stability of the light source. The spectrum produced by xenon lamps must be filtered to reduce unwanted spectral components. Different types of glass filters can be used to obtain different spectra. The use of the filter depends on the material being tested and the end-use conditions of the material. The amount of short-wavelength ultraviolet rays in the spectrum obtained after filtering by different filters is different, which will greatly affect the speed and type of aging. There are 3 types of filters that are frequently used: daylight, window glass, and UV extension filters.

In this experiment, a daylight filter was used to show the spectrum produced by this filter, and also the short-wavelength ultraviolet spectrum from 295 to 400 nm. Most xenon lamp detection equipment simulates the effects of moisture through water spray or humidity control systems. Water spray can well simulate thermal shock and mechanical erosion. In the test system, in order to prevent water from polluting the sample, it is necessary to use high-purity deionized water.
