Epson and Merck reach ink technology cooperation

Merck and Seiko Epson announced that the two companies have signed a cooperation and licensing agreement for ink materials for OLED displays. Epson has the technology to convert Merck's OLED materials into ink. Under the agreement, Epson will provide this technology to Merck for use in the production of OLED TV displays.

It is reported that mass production of OLED displays by inkjet, long-life OLED materials and ink technology for accurate and fast printing of OLED materials are indispensable. Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to combine Merck's long-life OLED materials with Epson's proud ink conversion technology to enable the use of OLED inks in inkjet printing equipment.

In the future, Merck and Epson will continue to work closely together to develop a blueprint for the development of inkjet technology, enabling Merck to promote the commercialization of OLED inks based on the current and future needs of OLED TV manufacturing, and create OLED TVs using inkjet technology.
