According to the National Compulsory Standard 18584-2001 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Wood Furniture for Interior Decoration Materials", the formaldehyde emission should be no more than 1.5mg/L.
It is understood that this special rectification combines the problems found in the rectification of the Shanghai furniture industry over the years. The furniture products in 2008-2010 were judged as unqualified in the supervision and inspection of all levels, the quality complaints of furniture products were many, and the quality assurance ability was weak. Small and medium-sized production enterprises are the focus of remediation.
The quality supervision department reminds consumers that when purchasing wood furniture, they should first purchase regular brand products from regular furniture stores of a certain scale, issue formal invoices, and ask for product manuals and warranty cards to protect their legitimate rights and interests. Secondly, it is necessary to attach great importance to whether the harmful substances of wooden furniture exceed the standard, especially whether the formaldehyde emission exceeds the standard, and the supplier is required to provide the certificate of product inspection. At the same time, the seller should also know the material composition and use parts of the various parts of the wooden furniture, and understand the tree species name of the solid wood furniture, especially the valuable wood, and indicate it on the purchase contract.
