A new method for the synthesis of polycarbonates was invented abroad, involving the synthesis of aromatic polycarbonates.
According to reports, the method is divided into two process steps. The first step is to dissolve bisphenol A, alkali, relative molecular mass regulators, antioxidants, and 100 catalysts in water to form an aqueous phase. The organic solvent is used as the organic phase. Liquid phosgene or phosgene solution is added to the system and the interface is polycondensed for 10 to 20 minutes. The second step is to add the relative molecular weight regulator and alkali to the system and blow gaseous phosgene for 20 to 60 minutes. The pH of the entire process system was >10. After the reaction, the wastewater was sampled and acidified and no residual phenols precipitated.
Comparing with the original one-step and two-step synthesis of polycarbonate technology, this method has complete conversion of bisphenol A, appropriate reaction time and good heat resistance of the product.
