The “World Star 2003†packaging design awards held by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) was recently held in Cairo, Egypt. Countries and regions all over the world sent 317 packaging designs to participate in the competition. 22 selected by China (including Taiwan). Among the works, 9 won the “World Star 2003†packaging design award.
China Export Commodity Packaging Research Institute represented China at the selection conference. Four of the five packaging works carried by Zhao Hongjun, the deputy director of the Institute, received the “World Star 2003†packaging design award.
It is reported that the "Star of the World" packaging design award is the highest award for packaging design selected by the World Packaging Organization (established in September 1968), which is selected once a year.
