12 Test Report
12.1 The test report must clearly state the evaluation criteria used and the results obtained. If required, it should include test results for each individual sample, average results for identical samples, or photographs of the tested samples.
a) The standard number and any relevant referenced standards;
b) The type of salt and water used in the test;
c) A detailed description of the material or product being tested;
d) Dimensions, shape, surface area, and condition of the sample;
e) Preparation of the sample, including cleaning before testing and protection of edges or special areas;
f) Description of the coating layer and surface treatment features;
g) The total number of samples tested;
h) Method of cleaning the sample after the test, along with any weight loss caused by the cleaning process;
i) The angle at which the sample was placed during the test;
j) Frequency and number of times the sample was moved or disturbed;
k) Duration of the test cycle and results from intermediate inspections;
l) Performance of a reference sample placed in the salt spray chamber to verify test conditions;
m) Test temperature;
n) Salt spray deposition rate;
o) pH value of both the test solution and collected solution;
p) Density of the collected solution;
q) Corrosion rate of the reference sample (mass loss, g/m²);
r) Any unexpected events that may have affected the test results;
s) Inspection intervals during the test period.
The test report for salt spray testing according to GBT 10125-2012 must follow this standard. It is essential that all data is recorded accurately and transparently to ensure the reliability and reproducibility of the test results. Proper documentation not only meets regulatory requirements but also supports future analysis and quality control efforts. This report serves as a critical tool for evaluating the corrosion resistance of materials under controlled environmental conditions.
