Effective use of color principles to skillfully deploy spot color inks

In the printing of optical discs, dark inks are more difficult to mix than lighter inks. For inexperienced technicians, the adjustment of spot color inks tends to be more and more, especially the deployment of dark spot inks. Nonetheless, everyone has a different perception of color, and the experience and proficiency in blending are different. As long as you understand the basic principles of color, you can fully use "waste" ink. The reason is the three primary colors of the colorant (Y, M, C). The three primary colors of the color material are the magenta (Magonta Red) and the yellow (Hanza Yellow) cyan (Cyanine Blue). The more the three colors are mixed, the darker the color is called subtractive color mixing. The three primary colors are mixed to become black. In theory, the same amount of magenta, cyan and yellow marks can produce black together, but because the ink production is not perfect, the purity of the cyan ink is not as good as the magenta purity, and the gray is always reddish. In order to make up for the shortcomings of the ink process, black ink was introduced to strengthen the gray effect, so that the printed matter can express a better sense of layering, which is why we are now using four colors for printing. On this basis, some people even completely replaced the places where the same magenta, cyan, and yellow inks appeared with black ink. This technology is called achromatic structure (GCR) in color separation. Where spot color ink is not ideal for replacing colors, it can be applied to other colors besides gray.

According to the color principle, the "waste" ink can be blended into gray and black. According to the degree of the gray-black ink, a certain degree of gray-black ink is added to the newly opened black ink, and completely mixed to form a black. Because there are at least two types of black ink (ie pure black and black gray), if the printed disc is printed in ordinary four colors instead of spot colors, the effect of using the processed black ink is still good. In fact, it is not necessary to make gray-black before black. Even the most contrasting white can be added directly to black or yellow, but the amount that can be added is only very small. In actual operation, it can also be mixed into other colors such as red, blue or purple according to the specific hue of the “waste” ink. It should be noted that when there is insufficient experience, it is preferable to use "waste" ink several times, rather than rush to print out products that do not work well. It should be noted that color is not only an element of design, but also a standard for the receipt of production. Even if the customer barely accepts a print with unsatisfactory color, it may not be patronized next time. Many companies lose important customers because of color quality issues. It can be seen that mastering the law of color presentation and controlling the color quality are the techniques that must be mastered in production. With advanced equipment alone and without good technical cooperation, in the fierce industry competition, the fate of being eliminated is inevitable.
