Common coating terms and explanations

1. Surface drying time

2. Hard drying time
Under the specified drying conditions, from the application of a certain thickness of the liquid paint film to the time required to form a solid paint film.
3. Transparency
The ability of matter to pass light.
Transparency can indicate that varnishes, paints and thinners contain mechanical impurities and turbidity.
4. Density density
The mass per unit volume of an object at a specified humidity.
Common units are kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m3), grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm3).
5. Viscosity
The internal resistance of the liquid to the flow.
6. Solid content non-volatile matter content: solids content
The amount of non-volatile matter contained in the paint.
