China's first terahertz security instrument released: only 1 second after security check

China's first terahertz security instrument was released at the 9th China International Defense Electronics Exhibition held on May 8th, breaking the situation that the terahertz human body security instrument had only the United States fully mastered the core technology and monopolized the market.

The name of the security instrument is “Bo Wei Tai Hertz Human Body Security Instrument”, which was developed by China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

According to reports, the traditional security detectors generally use X-ray active emission detection, while the terahertz security detector passively receives the electromagnetic waves emitted by the human body itself. The device itself does not have any ionization or electromagnetic radiation, which is absolutely safe for the inspected personnel. Traditional security instruments are mainly used for metal object detection, while terahertz security devices can not only detect metal substances, but also detect non-metallic substances carried on people. Compared to traditional security methods, terahertz security devices do not require contact inspection.

Usually, a security check in a public place such as an airport requires a security door scan, followed by a metal detector to probe the whole body, and the terahertz security system can complete the entire human body inspection by scanning for 1 second. The device has an inspection rate of about 500 people per hour and can work without interruption. Its efficiency is more than 5 times that of current manual security inspection.
