During the Chinese New Year, every couple must post Spring Festival couplets, even on many websites. In today's example, we will show you how to use Photoshop CS to make existing calligraphy works into spring couplets, or as a desktop, or put it on the Internet to enjoy with netizens.
1. First unfold the existing calligraphy works, scan them with a scanner or digital camera and store them in a computer. Then run Photoshop CS, open the calligraphy works, as shown in Figure 1 (left). We found that the uneven background of the paper in the work is very unsightly, and it will also affect the subsequent work. Below we select the menu command "Image → Adjust → Brightness / Contrast", adjust the image, increase the contrast between the background and the text, and Remove the wrinkles of the paper, the effect is shown in Figure 1.

2. Find a framed Spring Festival couplet on the Internet or in the material library, cover the original text content with its background color, and then import our calligraphy works, then adjust the menu command "Edit → Free Transform" to the appropriate size, in In the "Layer" palette, set the layer blending mode to "Positive Multiply". The effect is shown in Figure 2. At this time, you will find that the original white background in the calligraphy works disappears, which will greatly reduce our workload of removing the white background.

3. If someone likes the Spring Festival couplets with gold effect, you can select the "Magic Wand" tool, set an appropriate size tolerance value in the property bar, click the white background of the calligraphy work, and select the "Select → Select Similar" menu command in turn Select and delete all the white in the image, and then select the "Image → Adjust → Hue / Saturation" menu command in turn, check the "Color" check box in the "Hue / Saturation" dialog box, adjust the text to golden Increase the saturation and brightness to complete the production of the gold effect, as shown in Figure 3.
