The traditional printing color sequence generally always puts the yellow version in the first set of printing, followed by the red, blue and black versions, which are often based on the performance of paper and ink. For example, for a paper with a low smoothness and a rough surface, the uneven surface of the paper needs to be filled with a thicker ink layer, and the yellow ink layer can meet this need, playing the role of the bottom surface of the paper. However, the arrangement of the color sequence is not absolute, and some of the color sequence arrangements have to be set according to the type of offset press, the condition of the paper, and the specific screen of the printed product, especially as the quality of paper materials continues to improve and the type of paper. The increase in the above-mentioned traditional color-sequencing arrangements is not necessarily the best choice. In addition, the offset press has different models (such as the difference between a monochrome machine and a multi-color machine) and print screens in terms of color, effect, style, etc., to restore (represent the original), and the color of the print and the size of the print area. And so on, the arrangement of the color sequence should also be determined through practical exploration and practical verification. Therefore, some also use cyan ink, red ink, or black ink as the first color and yellow ink as the last color sequence, namely: black → blue → red → yellow or blue → red → black → yellow or red → blue → Black → yellow.
It is usually necessary to determine the specific color sequence depending on the model, such as:
(1) Monochromator: Yellow → Magenta → Blue → Black.
(2) Two-color machine: black → yellow, magenta → blue (print for landscape painting) or blue → magenta (print for figure painting); Indian painting with: magenta → yellow → black → blue.
