2003 Muztag photo report II (19)

Figure 39: Lunch. Here I would like to thank Song Yuhua, the team-cooked chef, who is hard-pressed. The food in the base camp is very good. Basically, you can eat at the base camp, and many people on the mountain eat what they spit. Wang Lin was vomiting the most. Later, he said: I spit three times this morning. The third time I just swallowed something in my mouth and said something to leave something in my stomach. Otherwise, what would happen? Hill climbing? In fact, from C3 to peaking and then back to C3, many people are basically empty stomachs for 10 hours. Special foods for mountaineering, such as the powerbar, are like vomiting. Not to mention eating. From C2 and above, everyone encourages each other. Be sure to force yourself to eat something, even soup with instant noodles.

Although the preparations were adequate, food shortages occurred in the last few days, especially when meat was not enough. Yang Chunfeng wanted to buy a small calf from the local village to kill and eat, but later still did not buy it. On the eve of the final departure on July 27, because of the shortage of instant noodles, the base camp caused a quarrel that made it very unpleasant.
