The packaging plant is Denmark's first factory of this type, with a total investment of 78 million pounds (112 million euros) in the next three years, of which 2/3 will be completed in 2008. The plant is expected to be put into production in the first half of 2009. Its purpose is to meet the strong development trend in the region and gradually increase customer demand.
Initially, the packaging plant is expected to produce 1.2 billion aluminum cans and 33 liters and 50 liters of aluminum cans.
The company stated that "the European aluminum can industry is currently in a high utilization state. The packaging plant will provide support for the Rextek Group to fully meet customer needs and help meet the needs of beverage can customers in the Nordic market as much as possible."
