Application of Sleeve Technology in Flexo Printing Plate

Sleeve technology has many advantages, which can be summarized as the following points.
1. The sleeve is light in weight, easy to load and unload, and the replacement of the sleeve can be easily completed by hand, which greatly reduces the labor intensity of the operator and can meet the needs of the printing manufacturer for rapid, flexible and personalized production.
2. By using different thicknesses of the sleeve, the required printing perimeter can be changed. That is to say, only one type of outer diameter air-bearing roll is used, and the main body can meet the needs of different printing perimeters in a large range, with a high degree of The flexibility, such as sleeves with wall thicknesses of 10 mm and 70 mm, respectively, differs by nearly 400 mm in the printing perimeter.
3. The sleeve has a small footprint and is easy to store. It is manufactured using special processes and materials with high precision and long service life.
The rapid development of flexographic printing technology has led to the advancement of many new processes and new technologies. The sleeve technology is one of them. This technology has been favored by users since its birth, and its application has become more and more widespread. Judging by the situation, the sleeve technology will continue to maintain a good development trend. At home, Rotec and LASERLIFE may be familiar with the two companies. They are the world's leading manufacturers and manufacturers of flexo printing sleeve products, and are flexible worldwide. The printing factory provides a large number of high-quality sleeve products and perfect technical services, which have a high reputation in the industry. Why is sleeve technology so favored? What is the charm of its space?
4. The use of a sleeve system can reduce production and transportation costs with low cost.
It is because the sleeve technology has the outstanding advantages of the above aspects, has been favored by the majority of flexographic printing plants since its introduction, and has greatly promoted the rapid development of flexographic printing technology.
Sleeve classification and use According to the different uses of the sleeve, it can be divided into paste sleeve, seamless printing plate sleeve, sleeve and anilox roller sleeve four categories.
1. Post-fit sleeve-fitting sleeves are specifically designed to hold photosensitive resin plates. This type of sleeve is easy to handle, easy to store, and low in cost. According to the different surface materials, the plate sleeve can be divided into a hard surface sleeve and a soft elastic surface sleeve.
(1) Hard Surface Sleeve A hard surface sleeve such as Rotec's Blue-Light sleeve. The surface layer of this sleeve is a precision-processed hard polymer that is very hard, with high hardness, impact resistance and Cut-resistant, etc., need to use foam sticky tape on the sleeve mounted on the printing plate. The hard surface sleeve is mainly used for thick printing (1.7mm~7mm) printing. The suitable substrate materials mainly include kraft paper, paperboard, paper bags and soft material boxes, etc. It is not suitable for high-quality, fine product printing.
(2) Soft elastic surface sleeve The soft surface layer sleeve is made of flexible, compressible polyurethane foam with good compression properties and a variety of hardness options, depending on the type of plate and the substrate The specific situation to choose the appropriate hardness of the sleeve. Soft elastic skin sleeves are specially designed for CTP technology and high-quality thin flexo designs. High-viscosity, thin (thickness 0.1 mm) sticker tapes are required to attach plates. The soft elastic surface layer not only has good toughness and high processing precision, but also has high compressibility and can absorb vibration. Therefore, the combination of soft elastic sleeve and thin plate material can print fine high-gloss dots and dots. The increase rate is small, suitable for high-quality, fine product printing, such as bar codes, thin lines, halftone patterns, etc., and the printing quality and printing effect is very good.
The advantages of soft elastic skin sleeves are mainly manifested in the following aspects.
1 Standardization of flexographic printing eliminates the headache of sticking the plate for the tape or pad combination.
2 It can meet the requirements of both halftone edition and field edition printing at the same time, that is to say, it is able to simultaneously print high-gloss small dots and solid color blocks on the same plate.
3 can effectively control the dot gain, so that the printing quality has improved significantly.
4 It can reduce the wear on the printing plate and prolong the service life of the printing plate.
5 has high resilience and shock absorption performance, even in the high-speed printing process can also quickly restore the original shape to avoid vibration.
2. Seamless Sleeveless Sleeveless Sleeveless Plate Sleeve, also known as a sleeve-type plate, is a seamless plate that is directly engraved on the sleeve. This is somewhat similar to a gravure cylinder. With the development of computer direct plate making technology and laser engraving technology, the application of seamless printing plate sleeves has become more and more common. At present, there are many flexographic printing manufacturers in China that use seamless printing plate sleeves.
Seamless seam printing plates can be used to print continuous patterns or products with the same background color, such as wrapping paper, cigarette tipping tipping paper, wallpaper, etc. In addition, if such a seamless plate sleeve is not imaged, it can be used for coating, full plate coating, and printing in solid areas.
The seamless printing plate sleeve is mainly composed of three parts: the inner layer, the middle layer and the surface layer. The material of the inner layer of the sleeve is mainly made of special multi-layer glass fiber (GFK), which has the advantages of light weight, low rotational inertia, high bending strength, etc. It can also ensure smooth rotation in the case of high-speed printing. The middle layer of the sleeve consists of a special polyurethane rubber, which has high elasticity and compressibility. The compressibility of the middle layer has a great influence on the construction and performance of the sleeve. It not only can increase the wall thickness of the sleeve. It can also absorb the tensile deformation produced by the sleeve. In the printing process, it is precisely because of the compressibility of the intermediate layer that the smooth running of the sleeve is ensured, so that a good printing quality is obtained. The surface of the sleeve is mainly composed of a hard polymer coated with rubber or synthetic material.
3. The Adaptor sleeve acts as an intermediate between the air-bearing roller and the plate sleeve. The main function of the sleeve is to increase the diameter of the roller or air-bearing roller. The splice sleeve also has a compressible layer. There is an inflation hole like the air support roller. The press connects two air pumps. One air pump inflates the air support roller, and the other air pump inflates the splice sleeve. Therefore, When replacing the sleeve, it is not necessary to remove the sleeve from the air support roller.
4. Anilox roller sleeves Anilox roller sleeves were produced approximately seven or eight years ago, slightly later than the printing plate sleeves, and have only been widely known in the last two years. It is precisely because of the light, fast and many other advantages of the printing plate sleeve. For the same original purpose and purpose, the anilox roller manufacturers also began to try to develop the anilox roller sleeve.
The inner layer of most anilox roller sleeves is made of compressible material. The compressibility of the inner layer can be used to install and fix the wind roller sleeve on the bearing of the printing machine. The compressible inner layer is through the air. To control. The middle layer of the anilox roller sleeve is made of a composite material such as glass fiber or carbon fiber. The surface of the anilox roller sleeve is covered with a shell sheath made of metallic aluminum or metallic nickel. The purpose is to absorb the centrifugal force and protect the ceramic layer from cracks.
The processing accuracy of the sleeve In the processing of the sleeve, the most important and most critical link should be accurate post-processing processing to ensure that each index is controlled within the specified error range. In particular, the anilox roller sleeve must be constantly in contact with the squeegee, and it must be ensured to operate coaxially. For the anilox roller, even if it is only slightly uneven or pit, it will produce a long service life for the squeegee and the sleeve. Bad effects. In general, the higher the screen number of the anilox roller is, the thinner the net wall is, and the more sensitive the force acting on the mechanism is, the more obvious the accuracy effect will be. In addition, errors in cylindricity, concentricity, and perimeter are also important for the sleeve. Therefore, it is necessary to make the sleeve as accurate as possible.
It is worth noting that since the sleeve may have some deformation after it is detached, when measuring the error of the sleeve, the sleeve should be mounted on the air-bearing roll, preferably left for 5 minutes to ensure all The compressed air is discharged, and the sleeve and the air-bearing roller gradually adapt to the air-suppressing roller and reach a stable state before measuring, so that truly accurate measurement data of the sleeve error can be obtained.
1. Diameter size and error sleeve must have a precise diameter size, which is the most basic requirement. In general, the diameter tolerance of the sleeve is ±0.001 inches. In addition, in order to enable the sleeve to be tightly held together with the air support roller of the printing press during expansion and contraction, the inner diameter of the sleeve must be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the press air bearing roll. The error is generally controlled within 0.0015 inches, that is, the inner diameter of the sleeve is 0.0015 inches smaller than the outer diameter of the air-blanket roller of the printing press, so as to ensure that the sleeve is tightly and tightly set on the air-bearing roller of the printing press .
2. Concentricity concentricity is a very important space tolerance indicator for all anilox rollers. It represents the amount of deviation between the sleeve and the absolute central axis in the case of rotation. This is an indicator of dynamic balance on one side of the sleeve. If the jitter error cannot be eliminated, there is an inconsistency in the circumferential direction of the sleeve. Once the allowable tolerance range is exceeded, streaks, ie, ink bars, are likely to be produced on the print during the printing process. The concentricity error of the sleeve is generally controlled within 0.001 inches.
3. Cylindrical Degree The cylindricity is also important for the sleeve. The cylindricity tolerance of the anilox roller sleeve is generally controlled within 0.0005 inches.
It must be pointed out that the above data must be measured at both ends and in the middle of the sleeve.
The installation and unloading sleeve of the sleeve is generally installed on the air support roller. The gas support roller is a matching device for the sleeve application. Its appearance is similar to the plate roller. An air intake hole is provided at one end of the air support roller, and compressed air can be filled into the air chamber of the air support roller from this air intake hole. In addition, some small vent holes are also distributed on the surface of the air support roller. The vent hole and the air intake hole are penetrated, and the compressed air charged through the air intake hole can be evenly released from the small vent holes. In other words, when the compressed air is filled from the air inlet hole of the air brace roll, the compressed air will be evenly discharged from the air vent hole of the air brace roll, forming an air cushion layer on the surface of the air brace roll, making the sleeve The inner diameter expands to expand and floats on the air cushion layer, so that the sleeve can be arbitrarily slided back and forth on the air spring roll, so that the sleeve can be installed, unloaded or replaced, even on a wide flexographic printing press It is very easy to change the sleeve.
After the sleeve is installed, the air pump is turned off or the compressed air is shut off. The air between the air brace roll and the sleeve is released, and the sleeve is shrunk and covers the surface of the air bearing roll, and finally the air supporting roll. Closely and seamlessly integrate into one.
Use cautions 1. Be sure to keep the surface of the sleeve clean and free of dust, solvents or dry ink blocks. These impurities may gradually penetrate the inside of the sleeve, causing corrosion or destruction of the compressible layer in the middle, resulting in its resilience and Decreased compressibility and ultimately adversely affect print quality.
2. Be sure to use a suitable method to clean the sleeve so as not to damage the sleeve material. For example, the anilox roller sleeve cannot be cleaned by ultrasonic or chemical cleaning methods, nor can it be cleaned with sodium hydroxide solution, otherwise the elastic compressible material of the sleeve will be deformed, and its original shape cannot be restored and maintained. . In addition, since the surface layer of the anilox roller sleeve is made of metal aluminum as the coating layer, some cleaning fluids may damage the aluminum. Therefore, these problems must be taken into account when selecting the cleaning method and the cleaning solvent.
3. The compression layer material of the sleeve must be protected, and it must not be allowed to touch or be contaminated with organic solvents, cutting fluids, grinding fluids, polishing fluids, etc. to prevent its deformation and ensure that the state of the sleeve is always maintained.
4. When installing the sleeve or removing the sleeve from the air-bearing roller, sometimes the operator may twist or rotate the sleeve slightly. It should be noted that the movement can not be too big or too violent, otherwise it will deflect the sleeve.
