Nicole Hollis Keeps It Simple And Always Remarkable

San Francisco-based interior designer Nicole Hollis founded her eponymous design firm, NICOLEHOLLIS, in 2002. Renowned for her bold and sophisticated style, Nicole has a deep respect for architecture and landscape. Her spaces are serene yet invigorating, minimalistic yet timeless, always aiming to elevate the human spirit. Nicole's approach to design is evident in her work across various projects. Her interiors are luxurious yet tranquil, combining neutral color palettes of black, white, and gray. This unique blend has made her a sought-after designer among clients in the tech and financial sectors. One of her notable projects involved designing a home overlooking the San Francisco Bay for a client who desired a place to entertain and connect with family. Nicole collaborated with John Lum Architecture to create a space that was both bold and understated, reflecting the client's love for art, the outdoors, and social entrepreneurship. Upon entering the home, guests are greeted by a yellow sculpture by Richard Artschwager, which serves as a playful exclamation point. The first floor was opened up to create a more spacious living and dining area. A limestone floor and warm white plaster walls were added to enhance the tranquil ambiance. The kitchen, located just steps from the living room, features oak floors and low cabinets to preserve the stunning views. Murano glass and silver-plated brass sconces by De Cotiis add a touch of elegance, breaking the monotony of the orthogonal design. Walnut stools with angular backs by Nicole Hollis sit comfortably under the island counter. Nicole's design philosophy centers around creating spaces that harmonize with their architectural surroundings. She works closely with architects from the initial stages, ensuring that every detail, from interior design to lighting, reflects the client's vision. Her portfolio spans a wide range of projects, from hotel interiors inspired by the Bay Area to modern rustic wineries and private penthouses. What do you think about Nicole Hollis’ interiors?
