ON SIGHT: If the climber does not have the relevant information, the first attempt on the route will be completed in the form of a vanguard or traditional climbing without falling off. The climber only observed the route from the ground before climbing, did not see other people climbing the route, and did not get any description or difficult information about this route from other people or articles.
FLASH: When the climber has obtained the relevant information, the first attempt on the route is done in the form of a vanguard or traditional climbing, and the route is completed without falling off. The climber can see other people climbing the route before climbing, can understand the shape and size of the fulcrum, and can know about the description or difficulty of this route. The bouldering route completed during the first attempt is also called FLASH.
REDPOINT: After the climber has repeatedly practiced the course, he or she will climb up and place protection points in the form of vanguard or traditional climbing to complete the entire route. Once it fell off, the attempt failed, the main rope was pulled down, and all the intermediate protection points were removed before the next REDPOINT attempt was made.
PINKPOINT: Similar to REDPOINT, the difference is that the intermediate protection point of the route has been pre-loaded with a quick link. The use of PINKPOINT is very common, especially on large angles. Now, rock climbers have increasingly ignored the difference between REDPOINT and PINKPOINT.
REDCIRCLE: In the course of the climber's attempt to REDPOINT, the failure is lost, the rope and the quick hanging are left on the route, and the next climb uses this rope to get off the ground and complete the entire route. Before the climber can repeatedly practice the route, have understood or tried all the actions.
YO-YO: After the climber falls off, the rope and quick hanging are left on the route. The next time you climb, use this rope to start from the ground until you complete the entire route. The difference with RED CIRCLE is that the climber does not have any knowledge of the route after the shedding part, nor can he observe or try the following route.
HANGDOGGING: After the climber falls off, he continues climbing from the shedding area to learn about the following movements. HANGDOGGING itself does not mean to complete the route, just for REDPOINT and other ways to prepare.
FREESOLO: Do not use rope, do not use protection points and protection equipment, complete the climb on the route alone.
SOLO: Complete the climb of the route alone. Ropes can be used to protect the equipment and even AIDs can be used to climb.
TEAMFREEASCENT: The team collectively completed the climb of multiple routes. During this process, the team members alternately led the climb, and the rest followed the ascender. In fact, this method cannot be called FREE climbing. It is instrument-assisted.
REDCROSS: Complete the route with the climber.
ALLFREE: Hangs on the middle protection point once or several times, completes each action and reaches the end of the route. Can not be called the completion of the route, only that there is no external force in the climbing process.
TOPROPE: Use the top rope protection to complete the route without falling off.
