In 2016, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine organized plastic materials - packaging materials and containers for contact with dairy products, paper materials - packaging materials and containers for food contact, rubber materials - seals for food contact, conveying hoses, disinfectants for contact with foods, glass Material - food contact containers, metal materials - contact baked food production equipment, etc. Six kinds of food-related products carried out national supervision and spot checks.

     A total of 1,792 batches of plastic material-contact dairy products packaging materials and containers produced by 1374 companies in 25 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions were sampled. After testing, 1,783 batches of products from 1365 companies were qualified, and 9 batches produced by 9 companies were unqualified. The qualified rate of sample inspection companies was 99.3%, and the product qualification rate was 99.5%. Among the substandard products, there are 2 batches of laminated film bags, 3 batches of container products and 4 batches of food tools. The unqualified products are mainly concentrated in these 3 types of products. The spot checks involved 10 items of nonconformities, including 2 items of total solvent residues, 3 items of evaporation residue (n-hexane), 2 items of evaporation residue (acetic acid), 1 item of acrylonitrile monomer, and 1 item of decolorization test (immersion solution). Pollution resistance 1 item. The number of large, medium and small-sized enterprises during the random inspection process was 40, 183, and 1151, respectively, and the number of small-scale enterprises sampled accounted for 83.8% of the total number of spot checks, indicating that the size of plastic packaging companies in China is still mainly small.
