As part of its business growth strategy in Asia, the UCB Group's packaging specialty products company in Belgium began producing acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) in Thailand. To this end, the company acquired the Rayong Latex Factory in Thailand's Colliant Chemical Company. At present, the company operates a 150,000-square-meter resin factory and supplies powder and acrylic resin materials for various uses of paints and unsaturated polyester resins.
UCB said that the company will further expand Thailand's PSA production capacity as an opportunity to start development in Asia and plans to invest in China. Rayong Latex Factory will mainly produce Gelva, Solcury1, Ucecry1 brand water-based and solvent-based adhesives, and plans to fully convert it at the end of this year. These high-quality PSAs will be widely used in the fields of drawing, marking, medicine, and automotive.
