One of our favorite crafts for kids is creating sun catchers. There's something magical about crafting something vibrant that sparkles in the sunlight. Usually, we opt for the classic contact paper and tissue paper sun catchers, but this time, we wanted to try something new for an Easter-themed project. That’s why we decided to use transparent plastic eggs to make colorful suncatcher Easter eggs, which we could hang on our Easter tree.
The materials needed for this craft are simple—just some Sharpies, string or ribbon, and transparent plastic eggs. Even our curious cat got involved!
We decorated the eggs using pastel-colored Sharpies. You can create any Easter or spring-inspired design you like—butterflies and flowers look particularly beautiful. For a touch of Easter cheer, you can even draw egg-shaped dots in various pastel colors. If you're feeling inspired by nature, sketching tiny chicks or adding Easter-themed patterns is another fun option.
Once the designs are complete, tie a piece of string or ribbon to the top of each egg so they can be easily hung. To create an Easter tree, gather some twigs from your garden and spray paint them white. Be cautious while handling spray paint—it’s best suited for adults since it requires good ventilation. The painted twigs can also be reused for other seasonal decorations throughout the year.
These suncatcher eggs look stunning when hung outside or indoors—they catch the light beautifully. They'd also make a delightful addition to an Easter egg hunt; imagine hiding small chocolates inside them for a sweet surprise!
This craft is perfect for kids of all ages, offering a creative way to celebrate Easter while staying mess-free. It’s an activity that encourages imagination and fine motor skills without the stress of cleanup. Plus, the finished products double as cheerful decor pieces that brighten up any space during the holiday season.
If you're looking for more Easter-themed activities, consider trying out other projects such as making Easter bunny gingerbread houses, creating Easter egg truffles, or designing personalized Easter cards. Each offers its own unique charm and is sure to bring joy to both kids and adults alike.
