When the book block is too thick, the depth of the milling back groove and the thickness of the back adhesive should be increased, which is about 1.2 to 1.5 mm, so that the back of the book is not easy to be broken and the pages will fall.

Correct use of hot melt adhesive

At present, the temperature of the EVA hot melt adhesive used in the disc binding machine is generally controlled between 160 to 180 ℃, and the temperature of the side adhesive is generally controlled between 90 to 110 ℃. It must be preheated for about 2 hours before use. Make it have good liquidity.

The use temperature of hot melt adhesive should be strictly controlled within the scope of use, not too high or too low. If the temperature is too high, the fluidity and permeability of the hot melt adhesive will increase, but the viscosity and strength will decrease, which will affect the bonding strength of books and periodicals. If the temperature is too low, the viscosity of the hot melt adhesive will increase, and the fluidity and permeability will be affected. Hot melt adhesives will thicken and become brittle and the bonding effect is not good. Coated paper books and periodicals should use some hot melt adhesives with better quality and stronger viscosity because of their higher tensile strength and better bonding effect.

In addition, according to the local climate change, the use temperature of hot melt adhesive should be adjusted accordingly. For books and periodicals stocked in low temperature and cold places, do not force the back of the book to avoid freezing and brittle fracture. It needs to be relieved indoors before use.
