In recent days, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine released the results of a national joint supervision and random inspection of 15 product categories in 2014. Among these, wooden furniture had the highest rate of unqualified products. A total of 878 batches of wooden furniture from 857 companies across 16 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities were randomly selected for testing. Out of these, 157 batches were found to be non-compliant, resulting in an overall unqualified rate of 17.9%. Notably, 75 of these unqualified items were already on the market, making up 47.8% of allä¸åˆæ ¼ products.
The inspection results also revealed regional differences. The unqualified product rates in seven provinces—Hebei, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shandong, and Sichuan—were below the national average. In Shanghai and Guizhou, the rates were close to the national average. However, several other regions, including Beijing, Jilin, Henan, Guangdong, Gansu, Ningxia, and Xinjiang, showed higher than average unqualified rates, indicating potential quality control issues in those areas.
