[Overseas events] WINGS FOR LIFE WORLD RUN May 3 global start

For outdoor enthusiasts who love running, marathons and endurance events are often seen as essential. But is it really just about the run? Beyond the physical challenge, what truly draws people to cross-country races? WINGS FOR LIFE WORLD RUN is back for its 15th year, taking place on May 3rd. This global event will kick off simultaneously in 35 cities across the world. The race starts at 11:00 AM UTC—roughly 7:00 PM Beijing Time. All participants begin at the same time, but here's the twist: after 30 minutes, pace cars known as "Shopmasters" will enter the course and gradually increase their speed. In the first hour, they'll chase runners at 15 km/h, then accelerate every hour after that. The race ends when all the pace cars have overtaken every runner. How far can you go? It depends on how long you can stay ahead of the cars. Once you're caught, your race is over. This unique format turns the event into a test of both endurance and strategy. The 35 locations for this year’s race were chosen based on the previous 14-year World Championship. And there's more—every registration fee goes toward non-profit organizations focused on spinal injury research and support. Whether you're an experienced runner or just looking for a fun challenge, WINGS FOR LIFE offers a one-of-a-kind experience that combines sport, community, and purpose.
